Rev. Msgr. Jacob Kollaparambil, a priest of the Archeparchy of Kottayam, Kerala, India slept in the Lord on December 06, 2014 at Vianney Home (Priests’ retirement Home), Caritas, Kottayam. He has completed 80 years of life and 53 years as a priest. Besides his various assignments in Kottayam Archdiocese including the Vicar General, Manager of Colleges, he was scholar in Canon Law and Church History. He served as Professor and Research scholar at Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome, Member of Faith and Order Commission of the Holy See and Deputy Secretary of Syro Malabar Bishop’s Conference. He published number of Research Books in History and Canon Law. Holy See has conferred him with the title of Monsignor in 2005.

The body will be placed at St. Mary’s Forane Church parish hall, Kaduthuruthy by 10.00 am on Tuesday, 9^th December to pay homage to this respected priest and scholar. Final funeral rites will start at 2.30 pm at St. Mary’s Forane Church, Kaduthuruthy which will be officiated by Mar Mathew Moolakkatt, Metropolitan Archbishop of Kottayam.
