മൈനര്‍ ക്ലര്‍ക്ക്സ് റെഗുലര്‍ എന്ന സന്യാസ സഭയുടെ സ്ഥാപകരിലൊരാളാണ് വിശുദ്ധ ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ് കാരാസ്സിയോളോ. സുവിശേഷ പ്രഘോഷണവും, വിവിധ തരം കാരുണ്യപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളുമായിരുന്നു ഈ സഭയുടെ പ്രധാന പ്രേഷിത ദൗത്യങ്ങള്‍. പരിശുദ്ധ കുര്‍ബ്ബാനയോടുള്ള ഭക്തി പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനാലും, തന്റെ സഭയില്‍ രാത്രിതോറുമുള്ള ആരാധനകള്‍ നിലവില്‍ വരുത്തിയതിനാലും വിശുദ്ധ ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ് “ദൈവസ്നേഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് പ്രഘോഷിക്കുന്ന ആദരണീയനായ പിതാവ്” എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുവാന്‍ തുടങ്ങി. പരിശുദ്ധ കന്യകാമാതാവിനോട് ഒരു കുട്ടിയുടേതിന് സമാനമായ സ്നേഹമായിരുന്നു വിശുദ്ധന്. തന്റെ അയല്‍ക്കാരനെ ഏതെങ്കിലും വിധത്തില്‍ സേവിക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയുക എന്നതായിരുന്നു വിശുദ്ധന് ഏറ്റവും സന്തോഷം ഉളവാക്കുന്ന കാര്യം. പ്രവചനവരം, ആത്മാക്കളെ വിവേചിച്ചറിയുവാനുള്ള സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധി തുടങ്ങിയ മഹത്തായ വരങ്ങളാല്‍ ദൈവം വിശുദ്ധനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
തന്റെ 43-മത്തെ വയസ്സില്‍ ലോറെറ്റോയിലെ ദേവാലയത്തില്‍ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കേ, തന്റെ അവസാനം അടുത്തതായി വിശുദ്ധന് മനസ്സിലായി. ഉടന്‍ തന്നെ വിശുദ്ധന് അബ്രൂസ്സിയിലുള്ള അഗ്നോണ ആശ്രമത്തിലേക്ക് പോയി. ആശ്രമത്തിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതിനിടയില്‍ മറ്റ് സന്യസ്ഥരോട് വിശുദ്ധന് പറഞ്ഞു, “ഇതാണ് എന്റെ അവസാന വിശ്രമത്തിനുള്ള സ്ഥലം.” അധികം താമസിയാതെ വിശുദ്ധന് കടുത്ത പനിയുടെ പിടിയിലമര്‍ന്നു, അഗാധമായ ഭക്തിയോട് കൂടി തന്റെ അവസാന കൂദാശകള്‍ സ്വീകരിച്ചതിന് ശേഷം വിശുദ്ധന് ശാന്തമായി കര്‍ത്താവില്‍ അന്ത്യനിദ്ര പ്രാപിച്ചു. വിശുദ്ധ ഫ്രാന്‍സിസിന്റെ മാതൃകയും, വിശുദ്ധ കുര്‍ബ്ബാനയോടുള്ള ആദരവും ജീവിതത്തിൽ പ്രാവർത്തികമാക്കാൻ തിരുസഭ നമ്മെ ഉത്ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
Saint Francis Caracciolo was one of the founders of the religious congregation known as the Minor Clerics Regular. The primary missionary objectives of this congregation were evangelization and various acts of charity. Due to his efforts in spreading devotion to the Holy Eucharist and for instituting nightly adoration within his congregation, Saint Francis came to be known as “the venerable father who proclaimed the love of God.” The Saint had a deep and childlike love for the Blessed Virgin Mary. His greatest joy was in being able to serve his neighbor in any way possible. God blessed the Saint with great spiritual gifts such as the gift of prophecy and the wisdom to discern souls with deep insight.
At the age of 43, while praying in the church of Loreto, the Saint realized that his end was near. Without delay, he proceeded to the Agnone monastery in Abruzzo. As he was entering the monastery, the Saint told the other monks, “This is the place of my final rest.” Soon after, he was afflicted with a high fever. Having received his final sacraments with deep devotion, the Saint peacefully entered eternal rest in the Lord. The Holy Church urges us to emulate the example of Saint Francis, especially his reverence for the Holy Eucharist, and to live it out in our own lives.
