Little Lourdes Mission Hospital, Kidangoor

It was established by Late Rt. Rev. Mgr. Cyriac Mattathil, a worthy son of Kidangoor village. The saintly soul was inspired by the holistic health care of the world – famous Grotto of Lourdes inFrance. He started a 12- bed hospital on the bank of river Meenachil, at Kidangoor naming it Little Lourdes Mission Hospital in 1956. He entrusted this institution, to the Visitation congregation, stipulating special consideration to the poor and the downtrodden.
