പാംഫിലിയായിലെ മാഗിഡോസിലെ മെത്രാനായിരുന്നു ധീര-രക്തസാക്ഷിയായ വിശുദ്ധ നെസ്റ്റര്. ഡെസിയൂസ് ചക്രവര്ത്തിയുടെ കീഴിലുള്ള ക്രിസ്തുമത-പീഡനത്തിനിടക്ക് (249-251) തന്റെ ഭവനത്തില് പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയില് ഏര്പ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് വിശുദ്ധ നെസ്റ്ററിനെ ശത്രുക്കള് ബന്ധനസ്ഥനാക്കി. തന്നെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന സഹനങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് ദര്ശനത്തിലൂടെ വിശുദ്ധന് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നല്കി. ബലിക്കായി തയ്യാറാക്കി നിര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കുഞ്ഞാടിനെ വിശുദ്ധന് തന്റെ ദര്ശനത്തില് കണ്ടു.
മാഗിഡോസ് നഗരത്തിലെ ഭരണാധികാരി വിശുദ്ധനെ വിചാരണക്കായി പെര്ഗിലേക്കയച്ചു. അവിടേക്കുള്ള മാര്ഗ്ഗമദ്ധ്യേ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് വിശുദ്ധനെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നും ഒരു സ്വരം വിശുദ്ധന് കേള്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അതിനു ശേഷം ശക്തമായ ഭൂമികുലുക്കം ഉണ്ടായി. വളരെക്രൂരമായ പീഡനങ്ങള്ക്ക് ശേഷം എഡി 250-ല് ഈ ധീരരക്തസാക്ഷിയെ അവര് കുരിശില് തറച്ചു കൊന്നു.
Saint Nestor, a courageous martyr, was the bishop of Magydus in Pamphylia. During the Christian persecutions under Emperor Decius (249–251), he was engaged in prayer in his residence when his enemies captured him. The Holy Spirit, through a vision, warned Saint Nestor about the sufferings that awaited him. In this vision, he saw a young calf prepared as a victim.
The governor of the city of Magydus sent Saint Nestor to Pergamum for trial. Along the way, the Holy Spirit strengthened him, and he heard a voice from heaven. Shortly thereafter, a violent earthquake occurred. After enduring extremely cruel tortures, this brave martyr was crucified in AD 250.
