The college which belongs to the  Diocese of Kottayam (Knanaya Catholic Community)  is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. The college was established in 1995 as a self financing institution and was converted into an aided college in 1997. It is affiliated to Kannur University and recognised by NCTE.
