Vincent de Paul Society

Vincent de Paul Society is a worldwide Catholic lay organization founded in 1833 by Frédéric Ozanam and Emmanuel-Joseph Bailly de Surcy. Inspired by the charitable mission of Saint Vincent de Paul, the Society is dedicated to the spiritual growth of its members through personal service to those in need.

As part of the global Vincentian Family, the Society operates through local parish-based groups known as Conferences, which are often connected to diocesan councils. Through these Conferences, members provide compassionate support to individuals and families facing poverty, hardship, and social challenges.

The Society’s outreach includes a wide range of charitable initiatives such as home visits, emergency assistance, educational support, healthcare aid, and community welfare programs. Many branches also operate thrift stores or charity shops that sell donated items at affordable prices, with proceeds used to support the poor and fund local social service activities.
