ബാലസോര്‍ രൂപതാ മെത്രാനും കണ്ണകര സെന്റ്‌ ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ്‌ ക്‌നാനായ കത്തോലിക്കാ പള്ളി ഇടവകാംഗവുമായ ബിഷപ്പ്‌ ഡോ. സൈമണ്‍ കായിപ്പുറം (65) ദിവംഗതനായി. തിങ്കളാഴ്‌ച പുലര്‍ച്ചെ 1.45 ന്‌ ഒറീസയിലെ അപ്പോളോ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ വച്ചായിരുന്നു അന്ത്യം. ഹൃദയാഘാതത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന്‌ പിതാവിനെ തൊട്ടടുത്ത സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും അവിടെ നിന്നും അപ്പോളോ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക്‌ മാറ്റുകയായിരുന്നു. കബറടക്കം ബുധനാഴ്‌ച മൂന്നിന് കത്തിഡ്രലില്‍.

കോട്ടയം: കോട്ടയം അതിരൂപതാംഗമായ ബാലസോർ രൂപത ബിഷപ്പ് മാർ സൈമൺ കായിപ്പുറം പിതാവിന്റെ ആകസ്മിക നിര്യാണത്തിൽ കോട്ടയം അതിരൂപതാ മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത മാർ മാത്യു മൂലക്കാട്ട് അനുശോചനം രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി. തീഷ്ണതയുള്ള മിഷനറിയും മികവാർന്ന ഇടയനുമായിരുന്ന പിതാവ് ക്‌നാനായ സമുദായത്തെയും കോട്ടയം അതിരൂപതയെയും വളരെയേറെ സ്‌നേഹിച്ചിരുന്നുവെന്നും മാർ മാത്യു മൂലക്കാട്ട് അനുസ്മരിച്ചു. കോട്ടയം അതിരൂപതയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ആറാമത്തെ മിഷനറി മെത്രാനായിരുന്ന മാർ സൈമൺ കായിപ്പുറം ലളിതജീവിതശൈലിക്കുടമയായിരുന്നുവെന്നും പിതാവ് സഭയ്ക്ക് ചെയ്ത നിസ്തുല സംഭാവനകളെ ഓർത്ത് ദൈവത്തിന് നന്ദി അർപ്പിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം അനുശോചന സന്ദേശത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

ദൈവവിശ്വാസത്തിലും പ്രാർത്ഥനാചൈതന്യത്തിലും അടിയുറച്ച ഇടയശ്രേഷ്ഠനായിരുന്നു ബിഷപ്പ് സൈമൺ കായിപ്പുറമെന്ന് കോട്ടയം അതിരൂപതാ സഹായ മെത്രാൻ മാർ ജോസഫ് പണ്ടാരശ്ശേരിൽ അനുശോചനസന്ദേശത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

കോട്ടയം അതിരൂപതയിലെ കണ്ണങ്കര സെന്റ് സേവേഴ്‌സ് ക്‌നാനായ കത്തോലിക്കാ ഇടവക കായിപ്പുറം ചാക്കോ- മറിയാമ്മ ദമ്പതികളുടെ നാലാമത്തെ പുത്രനായി ജനിച്ച സൈമൺ കായിപ്പുറം 1980 ഡിസംബർ 20 ന് പൗരോഹിത്യം സ്വീകരിച്ചു.
1981 ൽ ഒറീസയിലെ അലിഗോൺടോ ഇടവകയിലും ബരാംപൂർ രൂപതയിലെ മോഹന ഇടവകയിലും അസിസ്റ്റന്റ് വികാരിയായി സേവനം ചെയ്തു. റോമിലെ പൊന്തിഫിക്കൽ സെമിനാരിയിൽ നിന്നും ബിബ്ലിക്കൽ തിയോളജിയിൽ ബിരുദം നേടിയ പിതാവ് ഒറീസയിൽ ഗോപാൽപുരിയിലെ അക്വിനാസ് കോളേജിൽ പ്രൊഫസറായും ഫോർമേറ്ററായും സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. റോമിലെ ഗ്രിഗോറിയൻ സർവ്വകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്നും ബിബ്ലിക്കൽ തിയോളജിയിൽ ഡോക്ടറേറ്റ് നേടിയ പിതാവ് പുനെയിലെ വിൻസൻഷ്യൻ സ്റ്റഡിസെന്ററിന്റെ റെക്ടറായും ബാലസോർ രൂപത മൈനർ സെമിനാരി ഫോർമേറ്ററായും സേവനം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദൈവശാസ്ത്ര പഠനകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലും സെമിനാരികളിലും അദ്ധ്യാപകനായി സേവനം ചെയ്ത അദ്ദേഹം മികച്ച ദൈവശാസ്ത്ര പണ്ഡിതനായിരുന്നു. 2013 ഡിസംബർ 9 നായിരുന്ന ബാലസോർ രൂപത ബിഷപ്പായി അദ്ദേഹം അഭിഷിക്തനായത്.

ഏപ്രിൽ 24 ബുധനാഴ്ച ഉച്ചകഴിഞ്ഞ് 3 മണിക്ക് ബാലസോർ കത്തീഡ്രലിൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്ന സംസ്‌ക്കാര ശുശ്രൂഷകളിൽ കോട്ടയം അതിരൂപതാ മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത മാർ മാത്യു മൂലക്കാട്ടും അതിരൂപതാ സഹായ മെത്രാൻ മാർ ജോസഫ് പണ്ടാരശ്ശേരിലും അതിരൂപതാ പ്രതിനിധികളും കണ്ണങ്കര ഇടവകാംഗങ്ങളും പങ്കെടുക്കും. പരേതനായ കെ.സി പുന്നൂസ്, പെണ്ണമ്മ, വിൻസന്റ്, സിസ്റ്റർ റീത്ത, സേവ്യർ എന്നിവർ സഹോദരങ്ങളാണ്.

 

Msgr. Simon Kaipuram, bishop of Balasore Diocese in Orissa passed away due to heart attack on 22 April 2019. Bishop Kaipuram was originally from St Xavier’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Kannamkara and he was ordained bishop on 30 January 2014. He was a member of the Congregation of  Mission (C.M. – Vincentian congregation). Funeral will be on 24  April 2019 at 3 pm at Balasore. Archeparchy of Kottayam expresses her heartfelt condolences and prayers.

“Msgr. Simon Kaipuram is the 6th missionary bishop from the Knanaya Catholic Community. He was a man of simplicity” says Archbishop Mar Mathew Moolakkatt in his condolence message. Mar Joseph Pandarassery remembers that Bishop Kaipuram was a good pastor.
