Pope Francis prayed for the victims of the flood and expressed his solidarity with the people in Kerala during angelus in Vatican. He prayed Hail Mary with the audience for Kerala. His Holiness told that He is with the Churches, organisations and groups who suffer the calamities and who work for the relief.
Archdiocese of Kottayam does wonderful services in different areas of affected regions providing food and dress materials. Various parishes also take ventures for the same. Archdiocese thanks each parish, group and individual who takes pain and pains to alleviate the calamities of flood.
Kannamkara School is now the biggest camp (among the camps in our Archdiocesan institutions) with 1547 persons: then Chaithanya with 321, Vellamunda, Wayanad with 253, Pavana, Mananthavady with 178, Neericad with 80 and so on. Archdiocese extends its hands to more than 10000 persons a day. Since water is flowing to low regions of Kerala like Kumarakom, Kallara etc people living there are still vigilant.
The attention of the Archdiocese of Kottayam moves to maintenance of the affected houses also.
